The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) included a 28,000 square foot metropolitan police substation, a much needed station for the area, the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding neighbor¬hood. It is intended to support all bike officers for the strip. The Design Build team of Clark & Sullivan Construction and Arrington Watkins Archi¬tects designed and built the two-story police substation as well as a three level pre-cast parking structure. The design included metal panels, entrained autoclave concrete (AAC) panels with an exterior insulation and finish system (E.I.F.S.) exterior. The building features a bullet resistant exterior wall and glazing design.
Clark & Sullivan with the subcontractors topped off the steel in 15 days and erected the parking garage in four weeks. The design started the second quarter of 2007, construction started the first quarter of 2008 and the facility was completed in September 2008.
