The Cunha gymnasium is a joint venture project between the local Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside and Cabrillo Unified School District. The inspiration behind the project was to give the community an athletic/events space that can be used by multiple groups of youth organizations, all of which promotes the mission of bettering the lives of local children.

The Clark/Sullivan team broke ground in Winter 2015, which was the beginning of one of the wettest winters in Bay Area history. During the winter months, the project team was faced with record-setting rainfall, which resulted in several challenges for the team to overcome.

The state-of-the-art athletic facility features:

• 18,000 square feet of athletic & event space
• 1,190 professional-grade individual seats (This facility is 1 of 2 facilities in California with collapsible bleachers that have theater-style seats.)
• Locker rooms for teams and referees
• Fully renovated outdoor tennis courts
