It was imperative the pharmacy remain open and fully operational during this extensive remodel which included:

• asbestos abatement
• complete demolition and reconstruction of the space
• revisions to the fire alarm, mechanical and electrical systems.

Penetrations through existing walls and ceilings for mechanical, electrical and the installation of a pneumatic tube system added to the complexity of the project. nnFor the safety of the patients, while working within a fully operational hospital, negative air was maintained and carefully monitored to eliminate health risks from potential contaminants. Additionally, the operational status of the pharmacy carried the risk of access to drugs and required extensive security throughout with badging and background checks for all workersn
