Clark/Sullivan Construction and Broward Builders teamed-up as a joint venture to complete a new design-build charter school campus for Caliber Public Schools in the Bay Area.

The site used to be the home of the original Kerry Hills School campus, constructed in 1963, and had since been converted to district offices for West Contra Costa USD and had not seen any updates for quite some time. To address the growing need for more Charter Schools in the District, West Contra Costa USD teamed-up with Pacific Charter School Development to transform the campus into a 21st century learning facility.

The new K-8 campus, Caliber Beta Academy, is comprised of three classroom buildings. In addition to renovating one of the district office buildings, C/S Broward constructed a new 35,000 square-foot ground up building and installed a modular building. Working with the modular company, Enviroplex, the design-build team found the optimal solution to delivering a campus that fit the needs of the students and staff as well as the budget of Pacific Charter Schools. By choosing the modular approach, this also saved the project time, resulting in a summer 2022 completion.

The campus opened its doors to students for the 2022/2023 school year!
