While the CSN Cheyenne Campus was fully operational, Clark/Sullivan upgraded HVAC and electrical systems in seven departments and renovated two floors of science laboratory and classroom space. The C/S team performed the majority of its work at night to ensure Nevada’s highest attended community college maintained its course schedule.
“During pre-construction, extensive time was spent by the Clark/ Sullivan team surveying the existing facility. By conducting mandatory numerous tours of the existing facility, the mechanical and electrical subs were able to have a very good understanding of their scope of work. This better understanding resulted in better pricing and fewer change orders.” – Sherri Payne, College of Southern Nevada
Project leaders collaborated closely with mechanical and electrical subcontractors during pre-construction to clarify their scopes. Work included:
- Replacement of inefficient mechanical and electrical systems
- Rough-in conduit and wire for voice-data, speaker system and a mass notifications paging system tied into the fire alarm package
- Replacement of old laboratory stations, sinks and fume hood
