The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Transportation Technology Building serves CSN’s growing transportation program, which is meeting transportation industry demand for well-trained heavy equipment and big rig technicians.

In addition to the project being on an active campus, it is also located next to a residential area. Clark/Sullivan ensured that the work site was completely isolated from occupied portions of the campus and that precautions were taken to assure that any operations or hazards in the work site did not affect the occupants.

Clark/Sullivan, teaming with SH Architecture, won the Design-Build competition for the 34,700 square foot building located on CSN’s Cheyenne Campus. The Design-Build method enabled C/S to provide added value to the owner for their investment. Having the client’s goals at the forefront, single source responsibility and an emphasis on teamwork maximized value and eliminated unnecessary expense.

The project was completed within a tight schedule as the building was needed for the fall 2007 semester. The ground breaking was held November 2006 and was completed by September of 2007. n
