The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) established this 28,000 square foot metropolitan police substation to support officers working from bicycles, motorcycles and automobiles in the strip and surrounding neighborhoods.

The Design-Build team completed the two-story police substation as well as a three level pre-cast parking structure. The design included metal panels, entrained autoclave concrete (AAC) panels with an exterior insulation and nish system (E.I.F.S.) exterior. The building features a bullet resistant exterior wall and glazing design.

Project challenges included working in a high crime, high traffic area with very limited staging areas.

Clark/Sullivan, with the subcontractors, topped of the steel in 15 days and erected the parking garage in four weeks. The design started the second quarter of 2007, construction started the first quarter of 2008 and the facility was completed in September 2008. n
