When Clark/Sullivan delivered the Paul Laxalt Mineral Research Center in 1987, it was a giant step forward for the University and the School of Mines.n

The 80,000 square-foot building, styled to conform with the historic buildings around it, houses classrooms and laboratories for the following engineering specialties:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Chemical and Materials Engineering
  • Geological Sciences.

It is also home to the Nevada Seismology Laboratory, the KeckMine Ventilation Lab, the Newmont Rock Mechanics Lab and a Supercomputer Laboratory.n n
