Sierra College Campus Modernization
For Sierra College, Clark/Sullivan Construction performed pre-construction and construction services for Lease-Leaseback delivery, which is a California educational delivery that is identical to CMAR. We used the DID program to ensure exceptional Quality Control. The project was completed two months ahead of schedule.
The new buildings for the Sierra College Nevada College Campus included a Gymnasium, Multi-Purpose and Wellness Center. The team also performed a separate modernization project that included renovations for most of the existing campus buildings: Admissions and Records, Learning Labs, Health Services, Dining Hall, Science Building, Photovoltaic classroom, and General classroom upgrades while completing campus wide re-alarm, control upgrades and painting the remaining exteriors to result in a cohesive campus.
The Project was designed in stages to ensure that the revised master plan siting of the buildings did not trigger any unforeseen code issues. This meant working out interpretations of the topographic effects of wind added to the new code during the design process with DSA. Our team was able to successfully negotiate and adjust siting of the buildings to minimize the effects of this new code interpretation.
The Multi-Purpose building houses a 350 seat theater. The building was designed to allow flexibility with the performances and presentations. The plan is to use the space for plays, presentations, lectures, and recitals. Acoustics were highly considered since there was a limited sound system being utilized within the space. n
