Solano Community College – Auto-Tech
The Clark/Sullivan and JKAE design-build team created the winning concept for Solano Community College ‘s new Auto-tech facility. Our solution allows activities to be on display through viewing areas. The 30,000 sf state-of-the-art learning environment immerses students into an industry- like setting. It includes manufacturer’s displays of the latest in automotive technologies.
Contemporary learning and instructional strategies resulted in small group instructional areas such as the “Flex Bay” where electric vehicle technology will be explored, as well as the outdoor learning plaza for classroom activities. “Go-Pro” live streaming technology will assist students with viewing focused instructional activities.
The project’s sustainable design features include rooftop solar panels, high efficiency HVAC and lighting systems, electric vehicle charging stations, as well as rainwater harvesting system. n
