West Park High School Campus Additions
Clark/Sullivan Construction has recently completed a multi-phase project at the new West Park High School campus.
The project includes:
- Two 49,000-square-foot, three-story Classroom Buildings which includes state-of-the-art Biology, Chemistry and Physics classrooms.
- 36,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Multi-Purpose building, including a black box theater, presentation arena, kitchen servery and dining area, media commons with broadcasting booths, and additional classrooms.
- 35-meter Outdoor Competition Pool, featuring 14 swim lanes, bleachers for spectators, shade structures with solar water heating panels and digital scoreboard system.
- New Tennis Courts.
The scope of the project also includes all supporting utilities, parking, site work and landscaping.
Although LEED certification was not pursued by the district, the project was designed to LEED Silver according to the California Green Buildings Standard Code. Sustainable measures incorporated into the project include:
- Building placement optimal for solar orientation. The Gymnasium was sunken into the ground.
- Maximized north/south glazing exposure in all learning spaces.
- Integrated shading structures on the building to shade spaces from direct sunlight.
